At Digital Print Ink, we offer the Springfield area laminating options in a variety of sizes and thicknesses.

Drilling holes is part of the finishing process with printing materials. At DPI in Springfield, we have powerful paper drilling machines that allow for many different sizes of paper drills and enable us to position the hole just about anywhere on the sheet of paper.
Consider 3 hole drilling your company newsletter, sales flyers and other printed marketing materials. Studies have shown that people tend to save printed items longer if they are three-hole drilled. Marketing experts think that subconsciously we tend to feel like we need to put a three-hole drilled sheet into a ring binder or save it for future reference.
No matter what you might need in the way of drilling, we can handle it.

Shrink Wrapping

Shrink wrapping is great for printed items which may be stored for long periods of time. It not only keeps out the dust and debris, it also helps to keep out moisture, something that can be problematic when trying to run back through a desk top printer.

Stitching

Stitching is another word for stapling. The difference is that stapling is generally used when you're trying to bind together a smaller quantity of sheets and is done with lightweight desktop equipment. Stitching generally requires an industrial-sized, floor-mounted piece of equipment.
Saddle-stitching (staple through the spine) is a sturdy, durable, and attractive binding option. The number of pages our saddle-stitching equipment can bind together varies depending on the weight of the paper used, but the results are the same every time: nice, clean, and professional. We can saddle-stitch magazines and other multipage items such as catalogs, annual reports, and newsletters.

mailing services

Mailing Services

Automated Bulk Mail

Why consider automated bulk mailing? The advantage is the tremendous postage savings (up to 50%) compared to first class mail. The Post Office offers postage discounts when some of the work is done for them.
Automated bulk mail requires presorting the mail according to 3 and 5 digit ZIP codes. Presorted mail is easier and faster for the USPS to process. The ease of processing allows the Postal Service to charge less postage.

Here is and explanation of the bulk mail process:

We'll take your address database and process it for bulk mail.

Your list must be CASS Certified. CASS is a United States Postal Service (USPS) acronym for Coding Accuracy Support System. The term CASS is widely used by the USPS when they refer to the verification status of an address list. In order for an address list to receive CASS certification, it must be checked against the USPS Address Matching System (AMS) and the 11-digit delivery point ZIP code and corresponding barcode must be added. Only addresses with the delivery point ZIP code and barcode are eligible for "automation" bulk mailing rates.

Your list is also processed with NCOA (National Change of Address) software. This is now a requirement for bulk mail. The software will identify and change automatically any addresses on your list that have been filed with the Post Office for change of address.

We also check for any exact duplications your list may have.

Once your list has been processed, your addresses along with the correct barcode will be applied to your printed pieces. Then they will be bundled properly, put in trays or sacks and delivered to the Post Office.

DPI maintains the most up to date postal software, ensuring your mail will be processed for the best possible discounts.
Your mail piece must also meet certain guidelines set by the USPS, in regard to size restrictions (length, width, and thickness), weight restrictions, and design/layout requirements.

At DPI, we stay up on the latest regulations from the Post Office so you can rest assured your mailing will pass inspection every time!

Tab Sealing

Tabs (also called wafer seals) prevent the open edge of your mailer from jamming the Postal Service's high-speed processing equipment.
A requirement of the USPS, all self-mailers must have the correct number, size and placement of tabs.
Our mailing services department can apply tabs required, easily as part of our inline mail processing capabilities.
We have the knowledge and expertise to make sure your self-mail piece has the proper size and placement of tabs to comply with the USPS rules.
We use translucent tabs, so your design will not be covered.
If you are considering using a self-mailer, give us a call. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Mailing Lists

When sending out a direct mail piece, you will need a mailing list.
Typically this list can come from your current database of customers and/or prospects. What database (or portions of it) you use depends on who you are marketing to and what your goal is with the piece you are mailing out.

When you wish to target specific groups of people or a particular type of prospect, then it becomes necessary to rent or purchase a mailing list.
Your goal with this is to find a list with names that you feel could be prospects for what you have to offer. The key is to give some thought to who your ideal buyer is and then go after a list that will have a high percentage of that kind of prospect in it.

There is a lot of information you can request when purchasing or renting a list:

  • Geography – area where the list names are located

  • Age – helpful with age related products

  • Home Ownership – this qualifies the list for several related purposes

  • Household Income – especially helpful with larger purchase products

Too often the list itself is overlooked as a key element in a direct mail campaign. That’s why it's important to engage a direct mail expert, such as DPI, to help. We will find just the right list for your direct mail campaign.
For more information, give us a call at 417-881-5309

Every Door Direct Mailing

Another direct mail option is the USPS Every Door Direct Mail program (EDDM).
It means every mailbox in a specific location receives what you are sending. You do not need a mailing list. There are no personal names or addresses on the mail piece, instead it will typically say 'Postal Customer'.
You choose the area to mail to, by neighborhood, zip code or city. You can mail to specific city or rural routes. The USPS offers a special map to help choose the specific areas you want to mail to.

Some of the benefits of EDDM:

  • No mailing list required. This saves the cost of maintaining or purchasing a list.

  • No postal permit required. Regular presorted mailings require use of a permit to mail at discounted postage rates. For EDDM, the USPS waives this requirement

  • Small mailings can be quickly produced. Most city carrier routes are 300-600 addresses. By eliminating the time to gather a mail list and address the mail piece, and by using digital equipment for printing the mail piece, a small mailing can be in the hands of prospective customers in just a few days.

  • EDDM mails as a flat size. This gives you more room to design an effective, eye catching message. And the larger size means your mail gets noticed in your prospect's mailbox.

  • The mailing panel can be very small. Since there are no requirements for a barcode placement and the mail does not go through normal mail processing, there is more room for your message.

  • You can mail to residential dwellings only, no businesses.

  • Your mail piece will be in a better condition when it is delivered. Regular mail must be run through the USPS mailing equipment, which can damage or mark your mail piece. But the EDDM mail skips this step, keeping your design beautiful.

  • Save on postage! The current per piece cost of EDDM is $.175 each.

Non-Profit Mailing

While there is not a non-profit 1st classdiscount rate, there is a significant standard bulk mail discount, a savings of 40% on postage.
Too much money is wasted by nonprofits each year simply because they are not aware of this, or they have not taken the time to complete and submit the required paperwork to qualify.

Many, but not all, nonprofits are eligible for reduced bulk mail postage rates from the U.S. Postal Service. Your organization must meet certain eligibility requirements, submit an application, and receive an authorization at the post office where you will be doing your mailings. This is a free service and can take up to 4 weeks to become approved to mail a non-profit postage rates.

There are also requirements for your mail. It is free. Get a copy of form 3624, available from your postmaster or your local business mail entry unit. Here is the link for more information from the USPS.

DPI mails for many non-profit organizations in the Springfield area. For more information, give us a call at 417-881-5309

Variable Data and PURLs

People are more likely to open and read mail which is personalized to them. It raises the level of curiosity.
Personalization can be as simple as "Hi John, we've got a special deal for you"

However, with digital technology, personalization is taken to a whole new level:

Variable Data Printing (VDP)allows elements such as graphics, text and images to be changed from one piece to the next. This enables you to be more intentional about your marketing strategy by providing a way to personalize any printed piece. Different versions of the same printed piece can be automatically printed on a digital press.
For example, a postcard direct mail piece could be printed in one color for men and a different color for women.

PURLs take VDP one step further. A personalized URL (PURL) is a unique and personalized Landing Page created especially for each recipient of your direct mail or email marketing campaign.
The premise is fairly simple. When you add a PURL to a print or email marketing campaign, each recipient will receive their own unique website link, associated with their specific account or contact information.

Somewhere on a print piece, such as a postcard, flyer, or newsletter, the PURL will appear as a printed personalized website address. [For an email campaign, it will be a clickable link.] In both print and email, the address is unique to each recipient, so no two are the same.

When the customer clicks on or types in their unique url, the website they are linking to will use that PURL to identify the visitor and deliver personalized content targeted specifically to them.

PURLs are really the ultimate marketing tool. They are an effective way to connect with customers on a very personal level. As such, they're good for verifying and updating customer information, presenting highly targeted offers, and eliciting feedback. Purls measure tracking and click-through rates for a marketing campaign.

Top brands use PURLs all the time. You can too! Want to learn more?
Call DPI today for more information about how you can incorporate variable data printing into your company's marketing strategy.

Sales Process Management

Currently companies with salespeople find a challenge with the cost of generating leads and proper follow-up procedures.
Salespeople complain that leads are “BAD” and marketing complains the sales people are “LAZY” and do not work very hard at qualifying the leads. Faced with the need to grow revenue and the expense for lead acquisition, this causes many companies to abandon any lead generating method or even worse, throw more money at it hoping “something will work.”. This leaves the company dependent on the success or failure of salespeople to prospect and in essence, go it alone. This is not the process most company leaders want to base their success on.

Here’s how DPI Consulting Group can help you:

DPI Consulting Group works with companies and organizations to first understand the diverse opinions, expectations and breakdowns occurring within your current sales process. Then we make proven recommendations that come from industry standards and other recommendations that are unique to your product and service culture.

letterpress

Letterpress

Debossing

Debossing uses a special die just as with embossing. The surface of the page is recessed, rather than raised (as in embossing).

Both debossing and embossing are unique touches you can add to most any marketing materials including brochures, invitations, reports and business cards.

Give us a call at 417-881-5309

Die Cut

When your project requires custom cutting, we can handle it.
Straight cutting can be handled by a regular guillotine cutter. However any type of angles, or special shapes will require a process called die cutting.
First a 'die' must be created to match the size and shape of the cut. Then after the printing is complete, the paper will be 'die-cut' using the die.
This process takes a little more production time than straight printing and cutting jobs.

Our die-cutting services are great for:

  • Table tents
  • Door hangers
  • Die-cut postcards
  • Rounded corners
  • Keyhole cuts
  • And more

Give us a call today to discuss your special project. 417-881-5309

Embossing

Embossing is the process of pressing paper between specially cast metal dies attached to a letterpress. The result is a raised impression on the page that matches the design of the die.

Embossing dies can range from very simple shapes with flat, smooth surfaces to more elaborate creations with contours, depth, and intricate detail. The result is a crisp, elegant effect well-suited to any printed piece.
First a die is made to match the shape and size of the area to be embossed.
Embossing can be done with or without any printing.
Call us today to help you with your special embossing project.
417-881-5309

Foil Stamp

Add foil for your logo or another design element to add a classy look to your marketing pieces such as presentation folders, letterhead, brochures, report covers and business cards.

Foil stamping is a heat process using a special die that gives the image a metallic look. It works best on darker papers or high gloss white.
Any PMS color can be used for foil stamping, but gold and silver are the most popular colors.

Foil embossing raises the foil up giving a unique effect.

Scoring

When you need to fold a printed project that is on heavier card stocks of paper, we will typically score the piece.
Printed items such as booklet covers, presentation folders and any piece printed on thick paper, will require scoring.
Scoring puts a groove in the paper that ensures the fold is accurate and doesn't damage the ink or paper.
For digital output, we actually 'crease' the piece with a special creasing machine designed specifically for toner based printing. The crease helps prevent 'cracking' as is a common issue with digital printing.
